چکیده

The moduli of N = 1 compactifications of IIB string theory can be stabilized by a combination of fluxes (which freeze complex structure moduli and the dilaton) and nonperturbative superpotentials (which freeze Kähler moduli), typically leading to supersymmetric AdS vacua. We show that stringy corrections to the Kähler potential qualitatively alter the structure of the effective scalar potential even at large volume, and can give rise to non-supersymmetric vacua including metastable de Sitter spacetimes. Our results suggest an approach to solving the cosmological constant problem, so that the scale of the 1-loop corrected cosmological constant can be much smaller than the scale of supersymmetry breaking. Scalar Mass and Cosmological Constant induced by “Anomalous” U(1) D-term

When the supersymmetric theory contains the “anomalous” U(1) gauge symmetry with Green-Schwarz anomaly cancellation mechanism in 4 dimensions, its Fayet-Iliopoulos D-term generates non-universal scalar masses and the positive cosmological constant after the supersymmetry breaking. Both give the new contributions to the known results from F -term. Our mechanism is naturally realized in many stri...

Moduli Stabilization in Stringy ISS Models

We present a stringy realization of the ISS metastable SUSY breaking model with moduli stabilization. The mass moduli of the ISS model is stabilized by gauging of a U(1) symmetry and its D-term potential. The SUSY is broken both by Fterms and D-terms. It is possible to obtain de-Sitter vacua with a vanishingly small cosmological constant by an appropriate fine-tuning of flux parameters.

Supersymmetry Breaking in Superstring Theory by Gaugino Condensation and its Phenomenology

The weakly-coupled heterotic string is known to have problems of dilaton/moduli stabilization, supersymmetry breaking (by hidden-sector gaugino condensation), gauge coupling unification (or the Newton’s constant), QCD axion, as well as cosmological problems involving dilaton/moduli and axion. We study these problems by adopting the point of view that they arise mostly due to our limited calcula...

HOW TO LIMIT RADIATIVE CORRECTIONS TO THE COSMOLOGICAL CONSTANT BY M 4 Susy

Supergravity models are constructed in which the effective low energy theory contains only “super-soft” explicit supersymmetry breaking: masses of the scalars and pseudoscalars within a multiplet are split in opposite directions. With this form of supersymmetry breaking the radiative corrections of the matter sector to the vacuum energy are bounded by O(M Susy) to all orders in perturbation the...

Scherk-Schwarz SUSY Breaking in Noncommutative Field Theory

Motivated by a recent conjecture[1]that quantum corrections and the UV/IR connection modify the classical relation between SUSY breaking and the cosmological constant to the phenomenologically acceptable : MSUSY ∼ MP (Λ/M P ), we study SUSY breaking by boundary conditions in noncommutative field theories. In commutative field theory the violations of SUSY are finite and vanish as the inverse fo...
